I think we came a long way. I think most people just like to complain and blame their woes on other races. Or use their race as an excuse. I don't think it's really that bad for any race these days

Is America headed toward better race relations?
Are we trying hard enough to improve race relations in america, or do you feel that we put more focus on our relations with other countries? and Why? Equal rights for blacks brothaB Bless you I feel that way sometimes. In certain situations it can feel like nothing has changed in its content, but rather the appearance of things are blurred hidden and ignored. I am grateful though when I can sit shoulder to shoulder with my white brothers and sisters and hold a conversation that may make him grin or her smile. Just having that peace lets me see that something s have changed. Even if people are the same, I feel that barriers that blocked us from expressing who we really are may have fallen over under the freedom of expressing how we feel towards others. Black is beautiful in all shades Smile thank you I think its good to be single in this day, at least you arent just settling for anything, at least you have a standard. Since Obama got elected. White American's animosity towards black Americans has grown. They feel like they're losing their country. That they're behavior is being dictated to. There's already groups across America arming themselves in order to " take back" the country. And hate groups are on the rise. How long until they start attacking black people? What do you think? Why do you think that race relations between the Asian community and the African-American community are?
So bad? Or even non existent? Legit, educated answers. Really not in the mood for trolls. Tavio That's an interesting point, but where I am from New York City the Asians tend to look down on us, actually. Not the other way around. In school, I was an outcast, even picked on by my own people. The Asian kids were also picked on, so I thought maybe I'd mingle with one or two but they treated me like crap.Also, I notice that where I live, the Asians tend to snub Blacks and even some Whites, even though most Asians and whites stick together while most Blacks Hispanics stick together. I'm not sure why this happens, but it happens too much. I can feel the tension in my neighborhood with this situation.

I was listening to NPR and they were reporting on a study on race relations and social capital in my city...?
The study was on how white and black women get along. Apparently our city is lacking in social capital. The woman representing black interests reported that white people should stop treating black people as if race doesn't exist. In other words white people shouldn't judge people based on the content of their character instead of the color of their skin, they should judge people based on the content of their character and the color of their skin. Do you agree with her? What kind of sense does this make?Sorry STZ, Apparently I've got an itchy button pushing finger.

Are race relations in Brazil and the United States similar?
Brazil is generally thought of as being more accepting and less " Black and White" then USA. But it has been argued that they are actually growing to be a lot more a like in their ideas about race. How so?

If they haven't gotten worse.Personally, I think they've worsened. Most black people I know will call you racist if you say anything remotely bad about his presidency I have a black friend who was accuse of being an 'uncle tom' for disliking Obama.I must admit, he's terrible.
